Our Story
Our story began long before our school opened when we met as two teachers who shared the belief that children deserve to be cared for, understood, and supported as whole people. After welcoming our son, we felt even more strongly about the value of a Montessori education—yet we also recognized that many families, including our own, struggled to access it. That realization inspired us to create an affordable, intimate Montessori option for our community.
We opened our school in 2024 with the goal of offering a warm, welcoming environment where children can learn at their own pace and feel genuinely supported. With smaller teacher-to-student ratios, we’re able to provide close attention and individualized guidance that helps children build confidence, independence, and a natural love for learning.
Our mission is to cultivate curious, independent, and resilient lifelong learners while maintaining a strong emphasis on community and family involvement. We want families to feel like we’re partners in their child’s journey, and that they’re genuinely supported and welcomed here. We value kindness, empathy, and clear, consistent boundaries that help children feel secure and capable. These principles shape our daily work and create a space where children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
As we look ahead, our vision is to continue expanding access to Montessori education—eventually serving additional age groups and growing into a larger center—while remaining grounded in the warmth, purpose, and authenticity that guided us from the start. We believe every child deserves a high-quality, caring education, and we’re committed to making that experience more accessible for all families.

Our individual journeys to Montessori have varied greatly, yet we both share a deep understanding of its profound impact on a child's development.

Lord M. Ramsey (aka Mr. Lord)
My journey into education started with my own struggles in school. I grew up in San Francisco and, honestly, I hated school for most of my childhood. It wasn’t because I didn’t want to learn—it was because very few teachers took the time to understand how I learned. There was only one who truly saw me. Her name was Ruby Libscomb, and she believed I was capable long before I believed it myself. She made such an impact on me that I eventually started calling her my grandmother.
Because of that experience, I’ve always known I wanted to create something different for kids. I never wanted any child to feel the way I did—misunderstood, insecure, or unsure of their abilities. When I discovered Montessori, everything clicked. The respect for each child, the individualized learning, the focus on independence—it all aligned perfectly with what I wished I’d had growing up.
I’ve now spent over 10 years as an AMS-trained Montessori teacher, working in both Children’s House (ages 2.5–6) and Lower Elementary (1st–3rd grade). Every year has only strengthened my commitment to giving children the kind of learning environment that helps them feel confident, capable, and truly seen.
I’m grateful to be doing this work and even more grateful to welcome families who share this vision. I’m looking forward to being part of your child’s journey.

Nichelle Ramsey (aka Ms. Chelly)
My love for working with children started in high school, coaching cheer and gymnastics. That passion led me to pursue a degree in child development. My degree focused heavily in the Reggio-Emilia philosophy of teaching and while I loved it, it wasn’t until after I graduated and met Lord that Montessori entered my life. He began sharing the Montessori philosophy with me, and I quickly realized that Montessori included everything I valued about Reggio Emilia—and so much more.
I started educating myself in Montessori, reading books, and eventually applying the methods with our own son. Seeing the confidence, independence, and joy it has given him has been incredible to witness.
I’ve loved learning from Lord in the classroom and it has completely reignited my passion for teaching. Every day, I get excited by new opportunities to present lessons to children, especially in math. I love how Montessori approaches math with concrete materials—it’s so cool to watch children explore and understand abstract concepts in such a hands-on way.
Building this community and witnessing children grow with curiosity and independence is truly rewarding, and I feel grateful to continue learning with them every day.
